This explains what notapourdecision.com collects, why, where it goes, and what you can do about it. It's written to be read, not to bury you.

The site is run by Ben Puzzuoli, a sole proprietor based in Ontario, Canada, operating as Not a Pour Decision (“NAPD,” “we,” “us”). Questions, requests, or complaints about your information go to hello@notapourdecision.com.

What we collect, and why

When you contact us. The contact form collects your name, email address, company name (optional), and message. We use it to read what you sent and reply. The message reaches our inbox through Resend, an email delivery service. That's the whole purpose. We don't add you to anything because you filled out a form.

When you sign up for the newsletter. We collect your email address, and your name if you give it, to send you updates. We manage this through Klaviyo. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and when you use it we stop.

When you just browse. Like most sites, we collect some usage data automatically: the pages you visit, roughly where you are at a city level, your device and browser, and how you arrived. We use Google Analytics 4 and Vercel Analytics for this. This only runs if you allow analytics cookies.

Advertising. We use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure how our ads perform and to reach people who've shown interest in what we do. This only runs if you allow marketing cookies.

Embedded content. Some pages include posts and videos from platforms like Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Clapper, and Facebook. These load directly from those platforms, which can set their own cookies and collect data under their own privacy policies, not ours. We keep them behind your consent: until you allow social embeds, you'll see a placeholder card instead of the live post.

Cookies and your choices

We sort cookies into four buckets:

  • Essential keeps the site working and is always on. The contact form is part of this. It's you reaching out, not us tracking you.
  • Analytics covers Google Analytics 4 and Vercel Analytics.
  • Marketing covers the Meta Pixel.
  • Social embeds covers the Instagram, YouTube, and future platform posts.

Everything except essential is off until you say yes. You can change your mind anytime using the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer. Withdrawing is as easy as giving.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your information. We share it only with the services that make the site run: Resend for contact email, Klaviyo for the newsletter, Google for analytics, Meta for advertising, and Vercel and Sanity for hosting and content. Each handles your data under its own terms. We don't hand your information to anyone else unless the law requires it.

Where your information goes

Several of these providers are based in the United States, so your information may be stored or processed there. By using the site, you understand it may be handled outside Canada.

How long we keep it

Contact messages stay as long as we need them to handle your inquiry and keep reasonable records. Newsletter data stays until you unsubscribe. Analytics data follows each provider's retention settings.

Your rights

Under Canadian privacy law you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and withdraw your consent at any time. To do any of that, email hello@notapourdecision.com and we'll handle it. If you live somewhere with additional rights, such as the EU, the UK, or certain US states like California, those apply too. Reach out the same way.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information. That said, no method of sending data over the internet is ever completely secure, and we can't promise otherwise.

Children

This site isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

When our practices change, we'll update this page and the date at the top will reflect it.
