Think of this. How many lives do you have? If you answered "ONE", bravo, you win the start of a new, better life!

And if we only have one life, why are you letting someone else live YOURs? You might be looking at me and saying, BEN WTF, that doesn't make sense. No one is controlling me... I'm not puppet, I have no strings attached to me.

But if you are constantly trying to please someone else while ignoring your own needs, you are being controlled. Compromise is key in any relationship, romantic or not, and if YOU are the one constantly getting the "shit end of the stick", then change it... because UNLIKE how the old saying goes "You only live once" , I say F#CK that, "You live daily, and only LIVE once" ... At the end of the day the only thing we can ultimately control is ourselves. Don't give anyone the power to make you do things that go against your moral code or beliefs. Do YOU and stand up for yourself!
